OBJECT DETERMINED VISAS

Determined Object visas are issued at the Consulate of Bolivia, to people who wish to travel to Bolivia for any purpose other than tourism.

A Determined Object visa is granted to foreign citizens traveling to Bolivia with the objective of conducting business, education, paid work, marriage in accordance with Bolivian laws and / or performing any other legal activity not related to tourism .

Determined Object visas are valid for 30 days and are renewable by express request processed before the National or Regional Migration Directorate in Bolivia. When applying for a visa, a letter of introduction is required that must indicate the specific purpose of the trip, the dates of stay as well as indicate which institution, company or company will cover the expenses that the stay emanates as well as the return expenses. These requirements apply to business executives, business persons, affiliation team members, missionaries, volunteer workers, etc.

For certain nationalities, prior authorization from the immigration authorities in Bolivia is required, in this case the visa approval and management process takes longer. It is recommended to process the visa with a period of at least 2-3 weeks before departure.

The procedures can be carried out in our offices during office hours (Monday - Friday from 09:00 - 3:00 PM). 

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Complete the application form.
  2. Travel passport for at least 6 months validity.
  3. A 2 "x 2" passport size photograph
  4. Pay the cost of $ 85.00
  5. Letter of introduction and visa application, explaining the purpose of your trip, economic means of subsistence in Bolivia and details of the Company / Institution that sends or receives it.
  6. Photocopy of the Passage or travel reservation.
  7. Certificate of good conduct / Police Record
  8. Economic solvency test. Bank statement. In the case of Minors, the requirement of Economic Solvency will be the corresponding one by the parents or guardians.

WHERE TO APPLY?
You can apply with the Bolivian Consulate in Washington, DC only if you reside in one of the following States: District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa, Missouri, Minnesota and North Carolina.
If you do not reside in one of those states, you have to apply with another Bolivian Consulate, depending on where you live in the United States. For that information you can check your nearest Consulate: New York, Miami, Houston y Los Angeles
Incomplete applications will be returned without being processed. There is no expedited option, please plan accordingly
IMPORTANT
Please scan all the required documents (#2 to #6) before you begin your application. Processing time is of 10 business days, starting when we receive application, payment and actual passport.
TIPs
  • Make sure the information in the Sworn Statement is the same as in the passport.
  • Make sure all the requirements listed above show the name of the applicant.
